  • College Bound Program

    Historically Black Colleges and Universities Tour
    Each year PUSH Excel takes high school students from Chicago and other cities across the nation on a tour of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The tour culminates in an eight-week, intensive career and college planning institute for these students. They are required to submit essays and complete workshops in digital film, journalism, interviewing skills, and resume writing.
    High School and College Internships
    Internships are offered to students who live in cities where there is a Rainbow PUSH office. These students are trained in leadership for non-profit organizations and become equipped to provide public service in a number of areas. High school students are able to utilize the internships to receive service-learning credits for graduation.
    Student Leadership Development Program
    This program for high school and college students examines the qualities of true leadership and service.
  • Parent, Student, Teacher Engagement Initiative

    This national program is designed to assist parents in participating in the education of their children. It brings parents, students and teachers together as partners in the educational process, accountable to each other for doing their part to make sure educational goals are met.
  • Reclaim Our Youth Program

    This is a national program that provides training for educators, parents, and community leaders in a number of areas that impact students:
    --Anti-bullying

    --Anti-violence

    --Restorative justice initiative that creates a partnership between juvenile justice agencies, faith leaders, and local schools to decrease the number of school suspensions, expulsions, and incarceration of juveniles.
  • National Oratorical Competition

    The PUSH Excel Oratorical Competition is a program designed to focus young people on the power of eloquent and persuasive speech. PUSH/Excel believes that the three essential components of future leaders in communities across America are a strong moral compass, excellence in education, and sound communication skills.
  • Rainbow Excel Basketball League (REBL)

    The Rainbow Excel Basketball League (REBL) was launched in Chicago to provide a recreational outlet for inner-city youth along with mentoring and tutoring opportunities to improve school attendance and achievement levels.
  • PUSH Excel Scouting Partnership

    PUSH Excel offers Girl Scouting for girls in 1st through 12th grades.
  • Financial Literacy Program

    This program for high school students uses the stock market game and curriculum provided by the department of economics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Students attend weekly sessions where they learn basic economic and investment principles.
  • PUSH for Safety (Atlanta)

    High school students learn the basics of safe driving and the importance of avoiding distractions while driving. More than 7,000 students have experienced 10-15% discounts on auto insurance premiums by successfully completing the PUSH for Safety Course.
